        <gov:noteText>Bereits am 13.Januar 1790 wurden die Gebieten der sog. Souveränitätslande (zu denen das Amt Dahn gehörte) durch ein Dekret der Pariser Nationalversammlung faktische an Frankreich angeschlossen. Durch den Friedenschluss von Campo Formio 1797 wurde dies dann auch völkerrechtlich sanktioniert. Durch das "Décret sur la Division du royaume en départemens" vom 26. Februar 1790 wurde das Amt Dahn zum  4. März 1791 in das neuen französische Verwaltungssystemmaus Departements und Cantonen überführt.&#xD;
Der Rückzug der Franzosen in 1814 hatte zunächst die gemeinsame Verwaltung der Pfalz durch Österreich und Bayern und danach ab 1816 gemäß dem Wiener Kongress ihre Angliederung an das Königreich Bayern zur Folge</gov:noteText>
